Herbs and tips to strengthen immunity
Many of you have heard me say that acupuncture and Chinese medicine excel at strengthening the immune system and lessening the severity of cold or flu symptoms should you get sick.
Besides receiving acupuncture, here are some herbal formulas that are helpful to have in your medicine cabinet at this time of year. I still have some in stock and will place another order soon, so let me know if you're interested.
Herbal Formulas for the cold and flu season
Preventative formulas:
Jade Windscreen ASR - a combination of a classic herbal formula with powerful immune boosting Astragalus, Shiitake and Reishi mushrooms. It is especially helpful for those who are frequently ill during the winter months.
Modified Astragalus & Ginseng - this immune supportive formula is specially designed for people who struggle with seasonal allergies. It will boost immunity and when taken 6-8 weeks before the onset of the allergy seasons, it will lessen the severity of symptoms.
Astra C - this classic Chinese formula with added vitamin C and zinc citrate protects the body against illness and can be taken long-term by those who have frequent colds or flu, asthma or allergic rhinitis.
For the first sign of symptoms and while you are sick:
Yin Qiao Echinacea Plus - this combination of a classic Chinese formula with this well-known western herb is to be taken at the first sign of any cold or flu symptoms to expel the pathogen before it can settle into the system.
ColdQuell - helps clear any external pathogens and treats heat, phlegm and dampness to prevent colds and flus or lessen the severity of symptoms.
