Is it safe to receive acupuncture during this pandemic?
It's been almost four weeks since I re-opened my doors after closing to comply with Colorado’s stay at home orders. If you have wondered whether it is safe to return for treatment, I want to offer these thoughts:
I have always striven to create an environment that feels soothing, restorative and safe, and that has become even more pressing as we adjust to the new norms of life during a pandemic. I am grateful to be in a situation in which I can offer individualized care in a clean and controlled environment where you and I can meet one-to-one, and where contact with other people is rare. As such, and with all the new cleaning procedures in place, it is very safe to come in for treatment.
As an acupuncturist I follow strict ‘universal precautions’ as a matter of course and regardless of living through a global pandemic. But since living in this new reality, I have extra procedures in place to keep my work space clean and sanitary. I joke with people that it’s a good thing that I like to clean, because at the moment I am cleaning all the time!
The process of implement all the new safety procedures was smooth and easy, and I am happy to report that all new requirements are fully integrated into the flow of each appointment. You can read about all my safety procedures in my last blog.
Please let me know if you have specific concerns or questions that will help ease your mind. I look forward to welcoming you back in the coming weeks.
